Anne S. Douds serves as Chair and Associate Professor of Public Policy and Co-Chair of Public Health Policy at Gettysburg College, leveraging 20 years of prior experience as a trial attorney to bridge legal practice with academic rigor. Her educational foundation includes a BA in Political Science from Duke University, a JD from Emory University School of Law, and a PhD from George Mason University, creating a unique interdisciplinary perspective that informs both teaching and research.
Dr. Douds' research centers on criminal justice policy, legal health systems, and specialized courts, with particular emphasis on veterans' treatment courts, victims' rights, and program evaluation methodologies.
