Anne Nilsson is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in the Division of Food and Pharma at Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH). She is a member of the LTH Profile Area: Food and Bio. Her research focuses on metabolic health, dietary interventions, and functional food ingredients, with a particular emphasis on cardiometabolic risk markers, gut hormones, and gut microbiota. She holds an ORCID identifier (0000-0002-9780-7876) and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being (SDG 3). Key research areas include glycemic regulation, inflammation, and the gut-brain axis. She has led projects funded by institutions like the Crafoord Foundation and Dir Albert Påhlssons stiftelse, focusing on polar lipids’ role in improving metabolic health and appetite control.
Notable recent projects include the ScanOats initiative (2017–2025), examining plant-based polar lipids’ effects on glucose tolerance and satiety. Her studies often involve randomized crossover trials and collaborations with international researchers.
