Anne Merete Selvik Ask is an Associate Professor Emerita at the University of Agder, affiliated with the Faculty of Health and Sport Sciences and the Department of Food and Health. Her work focuses on Food and Health education, curriculum design, and pedagogical strategies in primary and secondary school settings. She has held roles including Academic Supervisor and Researcher, contributing to initiatives like the Centre for Lifecourse Nutrition. Her research explores teaching methodologies, student perceptions of health education, and challenges in implementing practical subjects like Home Economics.
Her research interests span curriculum development, child nutrition, and the integration of interdisciplinary approaches in education. She has co-authored studies examining teaching practices, the impact of the pandemic on academic conferences, and the role of educators in shaping academic culture. Her recent projects include analyzing student experiences during the pandemic and investigating the mismatch between curricular goals and classroom practices in Norway.
Ask has collaborated extensively with colleagues on studies about early childhood education, food preparation habits, and the sociocultural dimensions of nutrition. Her work bridges practical educational challenges with theoretical frameworks, emphasizing the importance of hands-on learning and pedagogical innovation.
