Dr. Anne McMaugh is a Senior Lecturer at the Macquarie School of Education, Macquarie University. She specializes in educational psychology, child health outcomes, and teacher education. Her research focuses on cohort studies examining the impact of chronic illnesses and injuries on academic performance, as well as teacher self-efficacy and trauma-informed practices. She has led or contributed to 11 projects, including studies on cochlear implant recipients' health outcomes and trauma-informed education in remote schools.
Her research interests span educational psychology, with emphasis on how health conditions and trauma affect learning. She has published over 81 peer-reviewed articles and datasets, including influential work on pre-service teacher development and childhood aggression. Key awards include the Asia Pacific Journal of Teacher Education Best Reviewer Award (2012 and 2021).
Dr. McMaugh has collaborated on grants addressing childhood burns' academic impacts and cochlear implant healthcare costs. She serves on advisory committees, such as the AREA Division D Educational Measurement committee.
