Anne Mari A. Rokstad

Anne Mari A. Rokstad serves as Associate Professor in Human Toxicology at NTNU's Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine. Her research investigates inflammatory mechanisms triggered by exogenous materials (biomaterials, microplastics) and endogenous substances like cholesterol crystals. Current projects focus on cardiovascular disease implications and microplastic toxicity.

Her work employs human whole-blood models to analyze immune pathways, particularly complement activation and tromboinflammation. Research integrates molecular medicine approaches to understand disease development and therapeutic strategies.
