Professor Anne Mandall Johnson is a leading figure at University College London (UCL), serving as Professor of Infectious Disease Epidemiology since 1996. She currently holds prominent leadership roles including President of the UK Academy of Medical Sciences (2020–present) and Co-Director of UCL Health of the Public (2019–present), alongside her position as Honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine at CNWL London NHS Foundation Trust.
Her research expertise spans Infectious Disease Epidemiology with critical contributions to understanding HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, influenza, and SARS-CoV-2 transmission dynamics. She pioneered methodologies in health survey design and behavioral intervention trials while addressing emerging challenges like climate change impacts on public health. Her work integrates clinical epidemiology with population-level health policy development.
