Dr. Anne Kiraly-Alvarez is an Associate Professor and Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Program at Midwestern University's College of Health Sciences-Downers Grove. She holds a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (O.T.D.) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, alongside master's and bachelor's degrees in Occupational Therapy and Movement Sciences.
Her research focuses on life skills interventions for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), cultural influences on occupational performance, and improving inclusion in occupational therapy education. She has led over a decade of teaching and scholarly work, including developing curricula for school-based practice and intellectual disabilities seminars.
Dr. Kiraly-Alvarez actively contributes to professional organizations like the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD), previously serving as ILOTA President and current Director of Membership. Her teaching responsibilities include course leadership for Professional Development and School-Based Practice.
