Anne Højager Nielsen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine - Operation og Intensiv, RHG, Aarhus University. She serves as Head of Nursing Research and has a Ph.D. in Clinical Nursing (MCN). Her work focuses on intensive care nursing, dysphagia screening, and perioperative care for prostate cancer patients.
- Current Role: Associate Professor, Aarhus University
- External Position: Research Nurse at Hospital Unit West, Region Midtjylland (since 2019)
Research Interests: Her research spans critical care nursing, dysphagia and delirium management in ICU, prostate cancer patient experiences, and prehabilitation/rehabilitation strategies. She leads multidisciplinary projects like GRASS (post-surgery recovery database) and WMTY (patient-centered surgical care).

- Telehealth prehabilitation for prostatectomy patients
Scientific Awards: Recipient of the EANS Summer School Poster Award (2018) and the Rosemary Crow Award (2019) for nursing research contributions.
