Dr. Anne H. Quinney is a Professor of French in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi, co-directing the French program. She holds a PhD from Duke University (2000), a Maîtrise de Lettres Modernes from Université Paris 8 (1996), and a BA from Brown University (1992). Her research spans 20th-century French interwar fiction, feminist French new wave cinema, Romanian Francophone literature, translation theory, and book history.
Her academic contributions include monographs like Le goût de la révolte (2008) and Paris—Bucharest, Bucharest—Paris (2013), alongside translations such as J.B. Pontalis’ Windows (2001). Current projects focus on female-centric French cinema through directors like Mia Hansen-Love and Céline Sciamma.
