معرفی
Dr. Anne-Gaelle Borycki is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Biosciences, University of Sheffield, where she has been employed since 2000 (as Lecturer until 2010, then promoted to Senior Lecturer). She leads the Borycki Lab, specializing in skeletal muscle regeneration using mouse genetics. Her research investigates satellite cell biology, focusing on the extracellular matrix niche, Sonic hedgehog signaling, and primary cilia roles in muscle stem cell regulation.
Her education includes a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology (1992) and M.Sc./B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Science, Paris, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and Gustave Roussy Institute.
Research interests center on:
- Remodeling of the extracellular matrix in satellite cell niches
- Sonic hedgehog signaling in cell-cycle progression
- Primary cilia function in mechanotransduction and stem cell self-renewal
Her recent publications (2013–2018) emphasize in vivo mechanisms of muscle regeneration, extracellular matrix dynamics, and Hedgehog pathway regulation. Collaborative projects include partners at UCL, Crick Institute, and Strasbourg.
Teaching includes coordinating undergraduate modules (e.g., Principles of Developmental Biology) and postgraduate courses. She mentors PhD students and serves on committees for the AFM (French Muscular Dystrophy Association) and EU research networks.
