Anne Dwyer

Anne Dwyer serves as Associate Professor of German and Russian and Chair of the German and Russian Department at Pomona College, where she has been a faculty member since 2007. Her scholarly work bridges Russian and German literary traditions within comparative literature frameworks.

Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. and Master of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College.

Dwyer specializes in literary treatments of multiethnic empires (Romanov and Habsburg), biography/autobiography studies, and the history of critical theory. She actively researches international/global education with emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion in U.S. higher education contexts. Her current book project examines Viktor Shklovsky—founder of Russian Formalism—tracing his Soviet legacy and contemporary relevance through theoretical and historical lenses.
