معرفی
Anne Duplouy is a University Lecturer in Evolutionary Biology at the University of Helsinki, where she leads the Insect Symbiosis Ecology and Evolution (ISEE) research group. She coordinates teaching in the Biology Bachelor's, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Master's, and LUOVA doctoral programs.
- Host-Symbiont Interactions
- Evolutionary Ecology
- Microbial Communities
Her research focuses on the ecology and evolution of symbiosis in insect communities, spanning from Wolbachia infections in tropical butterflies to broader microbial influences on food webs. She integrates genomic, ecological, and evolutionary approaches to understand how symbionts shape population dynamics and biodiversity.
Recent publications highlight her work in bioRxiv (2025) and Ecology and Evolution (2025), building on earlier studies of horizontal gene transfer in Wolbachia (2013) and genetic load in fragmented butterfly populations (2012).
Scientific awards:
- Best conference partaker (2022)
- CoE in Biological Interactions Funding (2016)
- Ella & Georg Enrnrooth Foundation Grant (2016)
- Knut och Alice Wallenbergs stiftelse for Contact Outside Europe (2019)
- LUOVA Funding for Conference Organizing (2016)
As a prominent figure in microbial symbiosis, Duplouy has contributed to international collaborations, conference organization, and media outreach, including coverage of her ecological research in Science and public discussions on urban biodiversity.
