Anne Berit Bech

Anne Berit Bech is an Associate Professor at the University of Inland Norway's Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, affiliated with the Nursing Section. She holds a master's degree in clinical nursing from NTNU and a doctorate in clinical medicine from the University of Oslo. Her doctoral research focused on morbidity and mortality among patients in opioid agonist treatment programs in Norway, using medical records, autopsy data, and national registries.

Since January 2024, she is conducting a 3-year postdoctoral project at Innlandet Hospital's National Competence Service ROP, funded by the Research Council of Norway. This project explores Virtual Reality (VR) as an intervention for mental health and substance abuse patients in a randomized controlled trial. She leads initiatives like Virtual Reality as a Facilitator for Social Participation and evaluates new LAR guidelines.

Her research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to healthcare challenges, particularly in addiction treatment and innovative care technologies. Key collaborations include work with forensic pathology institutions and national health registries.
