Annalisa Murgia

Annalisa Murgia is Associate Professor of Sociology at the State University of Milan and scientific coordinator of the GENDERS research center. She leads the ERC project SHARE on hybrid self-employment and previously coordinated the EU GARCIA project addressing gender asymmetries in academia.

Her research examines precarization, gender inequalities, and transformations in collective action, with focus on self-employment and gig economy. Methodologically, she specializes in qualitative approaches to work subjectivity and organizational change.

Recent publications explore solidarity economies among platform workers, relational organizing of freelancers, and hybrid methodologies. Work emphasizes policy implications for labor rights in non-standard employment contexts.
