Annabel Smith

Annabel Smith is a Lecturer in Wildlife Management at the University of Queensland's School of the Environment. Her research program investigates fire ecology, conservation biology, and restoration ecology, with focus on:

• Impacts of changing fire regimes on biodiversity
• Native grassland restoration techniques
• Wildlife conservation in agricultural landscapes
• Control of invasive plants

She teaches courses in ecology and wildlife science, serving as Associate Editor for Wildlife Letters. Current projects include mammal responses to megafires, platypus conservation in urban environments, and optimizing herbicide use in grasslands.
