Anna Wood

Anna Wood is a Senior Research Fellow at Charles Darwin University's Department of Wellbeing and Preventable Chronic Disease. She is registered to supervise postgraduate research and specializes in diabetes and maternal health, with a focus on gestational diabetes and its long-term impacts. Her work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Her research explores maternal hyperglycemia, postpartum diabetes management, and developmental outcomes in children born to mothers with pregnancy-related hyperglycemia.

Research Interests: Her work centers on understanding the effects of maternal hyperglycemia during pregnancy on offspring health, including childhood obesity, growth patterns, and developmental milestones. She also investigates therapeutic interventions for type 2 diabetes and disparities in diabetes outcomes among Indigenous populations in Australia through the PANDORA study.
