Dr. Anna Wiechecka is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism at Vistula University. She holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, where her dissertation focused on linguistic impoliteness. Since 2007, she has taught courses such as Introduction to Linguistics, Pragmatics, and Practical English at institutions including the University of Warsaw, University of Social Sciences, University of Linguistics, and Medical University of Warsaw.
Research interests include:
- Linguistic pragmatics
- Politeness and impoliteness theories (Gricean pragmatics, relevance theory, discursive theory)
- Intercultural communication
- Language in business negotiations
- Advertising rhetoric
- Impact of popular culture on language evolution
She has participated in international conferences on linguistic pragmatics, including the Linguistic Impoliteness and Rudeness Conference in Lancaster and New Developments in Linguistic Pragmatics in Łódź.
