Dr. Anna Tsaroucha is a Senior Lecturer and Course Director at Staffordshire University, holding the interim Head of Department position for Social Work and Wellbeing within the Faculty of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences. She earned a First Class degree in Philosophy, Paedagogy, and Psychology from the University of Ioannina, followed by an MA in Community Care (Learning Disability) from Keele University, and a PhD in Health Psychology from Staffordshire University. Her research focuses on dementia, mental health and ageing, service user involvement, and healthcare service improvement. She has led numerous externally funded projects, published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, and serves on editorial and review boards for prominent publications such as the Athens Journal of Health and Social Work Education.
Dr. Tsaroucha has over 15 years of teaching experience, specializing in health and social care curricula development. As Deputy Chair of the Research Ethics Committee and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she emphasizes ethical and pedagogical innovation. During the pandemic, she expanded her role as a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for Health and Social Care programs. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications, particularly in improving care for older adults and marginalized populations.
