Dr. Anna Stokke is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Winnipeg, where she holds the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, M.Sc. from the University of Manitoba, and B.Sc. from Brandon University. Her research focuses on combinatorial representation theory and algebraic combinatorics, supported by an NSERC Discovery Grant. She has supervised numerous students in research and teaches courses like Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Group Theory. Dr. Stokke is a passionate advocate for math education, co-founding WISE Math and Archimedes Math Schools to improve curriculum and accessibility. She hosts the Chalk & Talk podcast on education and has received prestigious awards including the 3M National Teaching Fellowship (2021) and the PIMS Education Prize (2017).

Research Interests: Combinatorial representation theory, algebraic combinatorics, and mathematics education advocacy. Her work includes studies on orthosymplectic groups, cyclic sieving phenomena, and curriculum development.

Advising & Grants: Supervised over 20 research students, including those in undergraduate and graduate programs. Holds an NSERC Discovery Grant supporting student research. Served as Chair of the Department of Mathematics & Statistics (2017–2022).
Labs & Teams: Founded Archimedes Math Schools and co-founded WISE Math. Collaborates with the University of Winnipeg’s Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre on summer math programs. Maintains an active YouTube channel and open-source precalculus review resources.
