Anna Skrzek

Anna Skrzek is a Professor at the University of Physical Education in Wrocław, affiliated with the Faculty of Physiotherapy and the Department of Physiotherapy in Dysfunctions of the Musculoskeletal System and Kinesiology. She has held multiple leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Physiotherapy (2016–2020), Head of the Department of Physiotherapy in Dysfunctions of the Musculoskeletal System and Kinesiology, and Head of the Department of Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics, Traumatology, and Rheumatology. Since 1981, she has combined academic work with professional practice in specialized healthcare facilities as a rehabilitation and physiotherapy specialist.

• Graduated from the Faculty of Movement Rehabilitation at the University of Physical Education in Wrocław (1980)
• Doctorate (1988), postdoctoral degree (2006), and professor title (2016)

Her research focuses on medical rehabilitation and physiotherapy, with a specialization in cryotherapy, gerontology, geriatrics, and musculoskeletal diagnostics. She has contributed to biomedical thermovision and cryotherapy applications, particularly for aging populations. Her publications include over 195 scientific papers and 10 books.

• Medal of the National Education Commission (2013)
• Team Award for cryotherapy chamber development (1997)

She has supervised 7 doctoral dissertations and numerous master's and bachelor's theses. Her leadership extends to co-founding the journal Gerontologia Współczesna Alter Ego Seniora and serving in roles such as Chair of the Lower Silesian Branch of the Polish Gerontological Society and Vice-President of the Polish Society of Cryotherapy.
