معرفی
Professor Anna Secor is a feminist cultural and political geographer at Durham University, with a focus on affect, difference, and spatial theory. Her career spans over two decades, addressing themes of religion, gender, and refugee experiences in Turkey and the Middle East.
Her research interrogates the intersections of difference, politics, and space, particularly through Deleuzean topology, trauma studies, and psychoanalysis. She has extensively explored veiling practices, refugee resettlement, and sectarian precarity in urban Turkey.
Recent publications analyze affective geopolitics, trauma as displacement, and the spatial implications of right-wing populism. Her work appears in journals like Dialogues in Human Geography and Environment and Planning D, with a monograph on populism and affect published in 2025.
Anna Secor supervises PhD and MRes students, including Lin Zhang, Sophie Granville, and Victoria Ridgway. She previously served as editor of cultural geographies (2016-2022) and co-edited volumes like A Place More Void (2021).
