Anna Runnemalm serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor and Associate Professor at the University of Skövde within The School of Engineering Science. She holds a senior leadership position in university management with office in Room Kanslihus 211 and can be contacted at prorector@his.se or by phone at 0500-448520.
Her research spans two distinct but related areas: early work focused on acoustics and vibration analysis of musical instruments (particularly violins and guitars), while her more recent research concentrates on industrial applications including non-destructive testing, welding inspection, and measurement techniques. This transition shows a clear progression from fundamental acoustics research to applied engineering solutions for manufacturing quality assurance.
Analysis of her publication record reveals strong expertise in thermography, laser welding inspection, and gap measurement techniques. Her research shows consistent focus on developing precise measurement methods for industrial applications, particularly in welding quality assessment. She has contributed significantly to the field of non-destructive testing with multiple publications on thermography, ultrasonic testing, and electromagnetic measurement techniques.
She is currently involved in the QWELD project (November 2021 - May 2025) focused on developing methods for quality assurance and optimization of laser and ultrasonically welded components, addressing the manufacturing industry's need for sustainable production methods.
Her leadership role as Pro Vice-Chancellor indicates significant administrative responsibilities alongside her research activities, demonstrating her standing within the university community.
