Anna Rita Bennato

Anna Rita Bennato is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at Loughborough Business School, Loughborough University, and serves as the Open Research Lead for the school. She co-leads the Behavioural Decision Sciences research group and is Co-Investigator Lead for the EPSRC CDT in Offshore Wind Energy Sustainability and Resilience. Her expertise spans applied microeconomics, industrial economics, and behavioral economics, with a focus on energy markets, innovation dynamics, and competition policy.

She holds a BSc and MA from Università di Roma 'La Sapienza', and an MSc and PhD in Economics from Università di Roma 'Tor Vergata'. Prior to Loughborough, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the ESRC Centre for Competition Policy (UEA) and as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Bristol.

Her research explores the intersection of behavioral insights and market structures, including energy prosumer behavior, pharmaceutical innovation, and regulatory frameworks. Recent work examines decentralized energy infrastructure challenges and the impact of competition policies on innovation outcomes.

Professional roles include contributions to the Centre for Competition Policy and leadership in open research initiatives. Her work bridges theoretical economic analysis with practical policy implications in sustainability, healthcare, and technological markets.
