معرفی
Dr. Anna Redden is a Professor of Biology at Acadia University and serves as Director of both the Acadia Tidal Energy Institute (ATEI) and Acadia Centre for Estuarine Research (ACER), with over 30 years of expertise in marine ecology and coastal environmental monitoring, particularly focused on tidal energy development in the Bay of Fundy.
She earned her BSc (Honours) and MSc from Acadia University, PhD from Memorial University, and completed postdoctoral research in Australia prior to returning to Acadia in 2005 as Associate Professor after faculty service at Newcastle University, Australia.
Her research centers on marine animal behavior in high-flow environments, including tracking fish/lobster movements, marine mammal activity assessment, and sediment-animal relationships, with direct contributions to environmental studies at the Annapolis Royal Tidal Power Plant and FORCE demonstration facility in Minas Passage.
No scientific awards were documented in the provided materials.
Dr. Redden co-founded the Fundy Energy Research Network (FERN) in 2010 and serves as Canadian lead for Annex IV on marine renewable energy environmental effects, while previously serving on the FORCE Board of Directors (2009-2016), facilitating industry-research collaboration on tidal energy challenges.
She leads interdisciplinary research teams at ATEI and ACER focused on sustainable tidal energy development and estuarine ecosystem dynamics in the Bay of Fundy.
