Dr Anna Obara-Pawłowska is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Ancient and Medieval History, Faculty of History and Archeology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. Her academic career spans two decades, with a focus on medieval historiography and economic-political dynamics in medieval Poland, particularly through the lens of Jan Długosz's chronicles.
- Master's in History and European Studies (2004), MA in Political Science (2006), and PhD in Humanities (2012) from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University
Her research examines medieval economic policies, royal narratives, and historical perceptions of marginalized groups. She has authored monographs on Władysław Łokietek's economic strategies and co-authored works on Motycz's history. Recent publications include analyses of Jan Długosz's accounts of Vlachs and royal sexuality.
Dr Obara-Pawłowska leads the "Doskonała Nauka II" grant supporting historical conferences. She has presented at international symposia, including the 5th Quadrennial Symposium on Crusade Studies (2024) and the Workshop for Hungarian and Polish Medievalists (2015).
