Anna Näslund is a Professor of Art History at Stockholm University's Department of Culture and Aesthetics. Her research focuses on photography, digital humanities, image archives, and the intersections of art historiography with digitization. She leads projects like Selling Pictures. Pictorial Economy and Commoditization (2025–2027) and coordinates the Metadata Culture initiative. Näslund is affiliated with the Network of Image Studies and Forum Modernism. She developed courses in visual studies and digital humanities pedagogy.
Her awards include the 2024 Fulbright Scholarship. Key research areas include photographic practices (19th–21st century), museum/archive studies, and digital image politics. Näslund's recent publications address post-digital art historiography, metadata practices, and platformization of visual archives. She collaborates internationally on topics like Nordic fashion photography and digital cultural heritage preservation.
