Dr. Anna Myjak-Pycia is a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich, affiliated with the gta Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology. She previously held roles such as Dean's Fellow at Cornell University and taught at Tufts University, MIT, and the University of California. Her research focuses on modern architecture, particularly the history of interiors and domestic space, with an emphasis on the Home Economics Movement and participatory design.
Education: Ph.D. in Art and Architecture History (2018, UC Santa Barbara); studies in Art History (Tufts) and Literature (University of Warsaw).
Research interests include architectural history, interior design theory, and the intersection of design with social movements. Awards include the Mallory Award and recognition from Moral Re-Armament International and the Polish Society of Regional Press.
Key publications include Another Modernism: Home Economics and the Design of Domestic Space in the US, 1900-1960 (2021) and recent articles on participatory design and infrastructure in architectural spaces.
