Anna Maria Kaiser

Ass.-Prof. Dr. Anna Maria Kaiser is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Center for Cultural Property Protection at the University for Continuing Education Krems. She holds a PhD in ancient history from the University of Vienna, specializing in Roman military history and cultural heritage protection. Her work focuses on integrating civilian and military approaches to safeguard cultural heritage, particularly addressing climate change impacts, disaster risk management, and sustainable use strategies. She leads numerous EU-funded projects, including INnovative Strategies for Risk Management (2024–2026), Roman Trails (2024–2028), and SOS Heritage (2022–2024). Her research emphasizes transnational collaboration and practical training for heritage protection in conflict zones and environmental crises.

Educated in ancient history with military heritage protection expertise, Kaiser has contributed significantly to establishing the Center for Cultural Property Protection. She teaches internationally on heritage protection interfaces with armed forces and emergency responders, emphasizing practical exercises and policy development. Her projects often involve multidisciplinary teams and aim to bridge gaps between academic research and real-world heritage conservation challenges.
