Anna Lund is a Professor of Sociology and Deputy Head of Department at Stockholm University’s Department of Sociology. She is also a faculty fellow at Yale University’s Center for Cultural Sociology. Her research focuses on cultural sociology, ethnography, and the intersection of education, migration, and multiculturalism.
Research Interests: Anna’s work explores how cultural processes shape social inclusion, particularly in schools and theaters. She employs civil sphere theory and intersectional perspectives to analyze micro-level interactions in diverse settings. Key themes include migrant student integration, emotions in practitioner-client relationships, and the role of arts in fostering social cohesion.

Grants & Leadership: Anna leads multiple grants from the Swedish Research Council and coordinates international networks like the Nordic Network for New Social Pragmatism. She supervises PhD students across Stockholm University’s sociology and child/youth studies departments.
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with the Department of Child and Youth Studies and the Center for Cultural Sociology (Yale) on interdisciplinary projects blending ethnography and policy analysis.
