Anna Lorenc

Anna Lorenc is a Lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, specializing in photographic techniques and design. Since 2009, she has taught Photography Techniques and Photography in the Design Program, focusing on urban landscape and architectural representation through subjective photographic documentation. Her research (2014–2016) explored artistic strategies for capturing the Upper Silesian agglomeration’s landscape from the 1970s to 2016, emphasizing motion and architectural elements.

• Education: Graduate of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, trained under Prof. Waldemar Jama (Photography Studio) and Dr. hab. Bogdan Król (Multimedia Publication Design Studio).

Research Interests: Urban landscape and architecture in subjective photographic practice, artistic/technical challenges of motion photography, and historical analysis of photographic representation.

Publications: Co-edited three volumes on photography, including the 2022 O obiektach i ich cieniach II and 2017 Poruszenie i zamrożenie, which examine light/shadow dynamics and motion capture in visual arts.

• Awards: Silesian Voivodeship Scholarship (2002), Marshal of Silesian Voivodeship Cultural Scholarship (2007).

Teaching: Leads Photography Workshop classes every Friday (8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.).
