Anna Lea Albright is an Environmental Fellow (2023-2025) at Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences, hosted by Professors Michael Brenner (Department of Applied Mathematics) and Peter Huybers (Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences).
Her education:
- AB/AM in Evolutionary Biology and Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard College (2017)
- PhD in Climate Physics from Sorbonne University, advised by Sandrine Bony and Bjorn Stevens
Albright's research centers on climate physics, particularly cloud and rainfall responses to global warming. Her doctoral work examined trade cumulus clouds using models and observations from the EUREC4A campaign. She also explores the intersection of art and atmospheric science, analyzing air pollution in 19th-century paintings by Turner and Monet. Currently, she is developing rainfall benchmark datasets and studying climate model constraints for rainfall predictions.
