Anna Karamanidou

Anna Karamanidou serves as a Professor in the Department of Social Theology and Christian Culture at the School of Theology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her office is located in room 314 on the 3rd floor of the Theology building, where she maintains regular office hours for undergraduate (Tuesdays 11:00-12:00) and postgraduate (Thursdays 17:00-18:00) students.

Her academic specialization focuses on Ecclesiastical Literature from the Fall of Constantinople (1453) to the present day, with particular expertise in critical editions of texts from the post-Byzantine era. Her scholarly work bridges historical analysis with theological interpretation of Orthodox Christian traditions, examining how ecclesiastical literature evolved following the Ottoman conquest.

Professor Karamanidou's publications reveal a consistent methodological approach combining textual criticism with historical contextualization. Her research demonstrates significant contributions to understanding post-Byzantine theological development, particularly through her critical editions of works by figures like Nektarios, Patriarch of Jerusalem, and her analyses of Saint Nicodemos of Mount Athos's hermeneutical contributions to biblical interpretation.
