Anna Jonsson is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computing Science, Umeå University. She serves as Programme Coordinator for the Master of Science Programme in Computing Science and Engineering and leads the research group Foundations of Language Processing. Her office is located at MIT House (MIT.C.429), Umeå University, 901 87 Umeå.
Her research explores the intersection of formal and natural languages, focusing on:
- Modeling natural language using programming language paradigms
- Developing rule-based formalisms for semantic representation
- Designing algorithms for processing linguistic structures
- Graph-based approaches to computational linguistics
- Fairness and transparency in computational systems
Publications (2016-2023) demonstrate strong emphasis on:
- Computational grammars and parsing techniques
- Graph-based language processing and hypergraph theory
- Algorithmic fairness and ethical AI frameworks
- Optimization methods for tree and graph extraction
- Formal semantics and linguistic modeling
As head of the Foundations of Language Processing research group, she coordinates investigations into theoretical and applied aspects of language computation.
