Anna Haukka is a researcher at the University of Helsinki's Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS) and affiliated with the Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences. Her work focuses on biodiversity conservation, human-environment interactions, and bird-feeding practices.
- Education: PhD in Multidisciplinary Conservation Biology (2025), MA in Environmental Ecology (2013), BSc in Environmental Ecology (2008), with additional studies in geography and pedagogics.
Research interests span ecology, conservation biology, and human-nature relationships, particularly the aesthetic value of birds in conservation and citizen science applications. Recent publications analyze spatio-temporal bird-feeding trends, multispecies interactions, and LIFE funding allocation for European birds.
She actively participates in scientific peer review, conference presentations, and media engagement to communicate ecological findings. Projects include KOPPI (learning methods) and Brakun linnut (street art).
