Dr. Anna H Wu is a Professor in the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at the University of Southern California. Her research program examines cancer epidemiology with emphasis on understanding increased cancer incidence among Asian migrants to the US, identifying modifiable lifestyle and environmental cancer risk factors, and improving outcomes for cancer patients.
Her investigations span multiple cancer types including breast, ovarian, and colon cancers, utilizing both observational studies and controlled interventions examining dietary components (soy, green tea) and hormonal agents. Since 2014, she has leveraged the Multiethnic Cohort (MEC) to study challenging environmental exposures like air pollution and endocrine disruptors.
Her extensive publication record demonstrates consistent focus on gene-environment interactions, cancer risk prediction models, and population health disparities. Recent work explores air pollution exposures, urinary phthalates, and genetic variants in relation to various cancers across diverse populations.
Dr. Wu also contributes to multicenter survivorship studies on breast and ovarian cancers, examining factors influencing patient outcomes and survival disparities.
