Anna Gronba-Chyła

Dr. Anna Gronba-Chyła serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Analytical and Engineering at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences, John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. She holds dual administrative roles as Acting Head of Department since 2023 and Course Coordinator for Environmental Engineering programs at the university's Stalowa Wola Branch.

Her research spans waste management systems with particular expertise in municipal waste characterization, circular economy implementation, and sustainable materials development. Current investigations focus on microplastics in environmental systems, landfill gas optimization using AI techniques, and conversion of waste fractions into construction materials. Her work bridges theoretical environmental engineering with practical municipal applications, especially in the Stalowa Wola region.

Analysis of her recent publications reveals growing specialization in EU taxonomy compliance, biogas cogeneration efficiency, and microplastic pollution pathways. Her 2024-2025 output shows increased interdisciplinary collaboration across environmental science, materials engineering, and energy systems, with significant contributions to Journal of Cleaner Production and Energies.

Dr. Gronba-Chyła actively supervises numerous diploma theses covering environmental topics from pollutant analysis to dietary impacts on thyroid diseases. She led the NCN Miniatura project 'The use of the mineral fraction of municipal waste -10 mm and sweepings from street cleaning waste to produce new materials as an example of the implementation of Circular Economy (CE)' and participated in the international POLONIUM project. Her industry engagement includes organizing 'Industriada in Stalowa Wola' and serving on expert panels for material recovery sector assessments.

Her laboratory work focuses on waste characterization techniques and sustainable material development, particularly through the 1st International Scientific Conference on Energy Security of Distributed Raw Materials which she hosted in Stalowa Wola.
