Anna Ghiglione is a Full Professor at the Université de Montréal’s Department of Philosophy, affiliated with the Centre d’études asiatiques. She specializes in classical Chinese thought, focusing on the interplay between linguistic and visual imagery in Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Mohism. Her research combines philological analysis with fieldwork in China (e.g., collaboration with Beijing University) and artistic collaborations, such as the 2013 Beijing exhibition La Chine des Sages en images.

Publications include Mozi (2018), a seminal annotated translation, and studies on Chinese ritual theory and semiotics.
Grants include funding from FQRSC, CRSH, and Chinese institutions. She teaches courses on Chinese Buddhism and contributes to interdisciplinary programs in Asian Studies and Religious Studies.
