Anna Gawlinski

Anna Gawlinski is Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing with over 40 years of contributions to nursing science. Her research develops evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes for critically ill patients, with particular focus on cardiovascular care, patient safety, and nursing surveillance. She pioneered hospital-based nursing research infrastructure at UCLA.

Research focuses on:

• Error recovery and patient safety systems
• Evidence-based nursing practice models
• Cardiovascular nursing interventions
• Eye-tracking for nursing education
• Therapeutic approaches for critical care

Her publications advance understanding of nursing surveillance behaviors and error prevention strategies. Recent work explores the impact of COVID-19 on clinical nurse specialist roles and transfusion safety protocols.
