معرفی
Anna Forsby is an Associate Professor at Stockholm University's Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, specializing in chemically induced neurotoxicity using neuronal cell models. Her research integrates in vitro data from SH-SY5Y and C17.2 cell lines with in vivo rat studies and human clinical observations to develop predictive risk assessment models.
- Primary Research Areas: Developmental neurotoxicity, TRPV1 channel function, mitochondrial toxicant detection
- Key Projects: EU-ToxRisk, ACuteTox, NociOcular test development
Her laboratory investigates neuronal differentiation disruptions via signaling pathways like CREB and retinoic acid receptor activation, while developing alternative toxicity assays that align with Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOP) and Integrated Approaches to Testing and Assessment (IATA). Current students include PhD candidate Ylva Johansson.
Publications demonstrate expertise in cellular response mechanisms to neurotoxicants such as acrylamide, neonicotinoid pesticides, and mitochondrial inhibitors, with particular focus on calcium signaling, membrane potential changes, and neurite outgrowth inhibition. Collaborations include Karolinska Institutet for respiratory tract irritation studies.
