Dr. Anna Farkas serves as a university assistant professor and Illustration specialization manager at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, holding a Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) degree. With over three decades of professional activity since the 1990s, she has established herself as a leading Hungarian graphic designer whose work bridges artistic expression and functional design across international platforms.
Her academic foundation was built entirely at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts:
- Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) from the Doctoral School (2016-2018)
- Master's Degree (1996-1998)
- Undergraduate studies in Graphic Design Department (1991-1996)
Farkas's research explores the dynamic interplay between traditional techniques and digital innovation in visual communication. Her work demonstrates exceptional mastery in typography and structural composition, particularly evident in award-winning book designs and poster series that transform scientific concepts into compelling visual narratives. The recurring theme of art-science synthesis defines her creative approach, as seen in calendar designs visualizing mathematical forms and exhibition identities merging cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics.
Her extraordinary contributions have earned international recognition across 35 major design awards:

While specific student advising details remain undocumented, Farkas actively mentors through her leadership of the Illustration specialization program. No public records indicate research grant acquisitions, though her extensive exhibition history suggests project-based funding for design implementations.
Her professional ecosystem includes foundational roles in the Hungarian Society of Graphic Designers and Typographers (matt), which she co-founded and serves on the board, alongside active membership in the Hungarian Association of Fine and Applied Artists (Graphic Design Section), Hungarian National Association of Creative Artists, and Young Applied Artists Studio Association (fise). These affiliations demonstrate her commitment to shaping Hungary's design community through collaborative knowledge exchange and professional advocacy.
