Anna Doering is Reader in Psychology and PhD Coordinator in Social Sciences at the University of Westminster, where she is affiliated with the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Science and Technology. Her work has a strong international focus, involving collaborations across Europe, Israel, Australia, the Americas, and beyond.
Her academic background includes studies at the University of Münster (Germany), an MSc project at Macquarie University (Australia), a PhD at Münster, postdoctoral research at Royal Holloway, University of London, and her current role at Westminster.
Her research centers on the development of personal values from early childhood through adolescence. She is the developer of the Picture-Based Value Survey for Children (PBVS-C), the first instrument enabling children to self-report their values. This tool has been adapted in 13 countries with more adaptations underway. Her second major research strand focuses on innovations in teaching psychology, particularly in making research methods and statistics more engaging and effective for students.
Her recent publications reveal a strong trend in longitudinal, cross-cultural, and mixed-methods studies on value development, teacher education, online teaching efficacy, and digital learning tools such as serious games. She frequently collaborates with international scholars on topics like value transmission in schools, classroom behavior, and educational interventions.

Anna Doering currently supervises three PhD students: Iuliia Patsiukova, Henry Egbums, and Rosa Leino. Her research is supported by multiple grants, particularly the 4-year international project on 'The Formation of Children's Values in School' funded by SNSF/ESRC. She leads and contributes to interdisciplinary teams focused on psychological assessment, educational innovation, and cross-cultural research.
