Anna Bothe Jespersen is a Teaching Associate Professor at the Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on phonetics, sociolinguistics, and second language acquisition, with specific emphasis on intonation, age-related variation, and political speech.

Her recent work explores the intersection of social identity and language use, particularly in Danish-English code-switching contexts. She has published extensively on challenges in Danish pronunciation for L2 learners and intonation patterns in Belfast and Sydney English dialects.
Anna co-organized the 2024 FONETIK conference and has been actively involved in integrating generative AI into linguistic variation studies. Her current research investigates voice aging from both social and physiological perspectives.

She collaborates frequently with Dr. Martyn Richard Bone and has held external positions at Aarhus University as a Postdoc (2017-2022) and Teaching Fellow (2022).
