Dr Anna Bak-Klimek is a Lecturer at the School of Health and Social Care, Edinburgh Napier University. She is a BPS Chartered Psychologist (Teaching & Research Route) and a member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), currently working toward BABCP Accreditation.
Her research focuses on adapting psychological interventions to improve mental health outcomes for populations affected by long-term health conditions (e.g., cancer) and developmental disabilities. She specializes in systematic reviews, quantitative research, and mixed-methods approaches, with a particular emphasis on migrant well-being, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Dr Bak-Klimek supervises four PhD students: Chloe Kennedy, Rachel Davidson-Welch, Sarah Guthrie, and Louise Allan, focusing on topics like CBT for autistic adults, LGBTQ+ inclusive teaching, self-management strategies for people with intellectual disabilities, and PTSD/CTSD research. She also contributes to volunteer psychotherapy services at Arkordia, a Scottish charity addressing mental health disparities.
