Ann-Kathrin Armbruster

Dr. Ann-Kathrin Armbruster serves as a Project/Science Manager at the Protestant Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn since September 2022, having previously worked as Project Manager for Faculty Development from June 2021 to August 2022. Her role focuses on excellence management, third-party funding consulting, faculty development, and research administration within the theological faculty.

Dr. Armbruster completed her doctoral studies in Systematic Theology at the University of Bonn under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Cornelia Richter, successfully defending her dissertation titled "Figuration and Appropriation. Hermeneutic Conclusions on the Meaning of Narrative-Visual Elements in the Context of Dogmatic Teaching Following Philipp Melanchthon" in August 2022. Her academic journey includes:

• 1st State Examination in Evangelical Religious Education, Latin, and Educational Science from the University of Cologne (2013)
• Studies for Gymnasium/Gesamtschule teaching degree in Osnabrück, Cologne, and Bonn (2007-2013)

Dr. Armbruster's research interests span Theological Hermeneutics, Theology of the Reformation period, and the intersection of Resilience and Vulnerability within religious contexts. Her scholarly work demonstrates a consistent focus on Philipp Melanchthon's theological contributions, particularly examining narrative and visual elements in dogmatic teaching, will theory, and freedom concepts. She has developed expertise in applying philosophical frameworks like mediopassivity to theological questions and exploring mythological figures such as Medea as lenses for understanding religious vulnerability.

Her publication record reveals a strong engagement with Reformation theology, particularly the works of Melanchthon and Luther, while expanding into contemporary applications regarding resilience, vulnerability, and religious experience. This interdisciplinary approach bridges historical theology with modern philosophical and psychological concepts.

Erzählen von biographischen Herausforderungen in der Theologie" through the Fonds zur Förderung der strukturellen Verankerung von Gleichstellung an den Fakultäten.
