Ann Elizabeth Montgomery is an Associate Professor in the Health Behavior department at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Public Health, where she also serves as PhD Program Director. She maintains multiple appointments across UAB institutions including the School of Medicine and the UAB Center for Study of Community Health. Additionally, she serves as an Investigator with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on Health Services Research and the National Center on Homelessness Among Veterans.
Dr. Montgomery's research focuses on veteran homelessness, housing instability, social determinants of health, and suicide prevention. Her work examines the intersection of housing instability with health outcomes, healthcare access, and mortality among vulnerable populations, particularly veterans. She has published extensively on topics including rapid rehousing programs, temporary financial assistance for housing, and the relationship between housing instability and health outcomes.
