Ann Dorrit Guassora is an Associate Professor at the Department of Public Health, Section of General Practice, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. A trained medical doctor, she leads the research group "Consultation and Learning" and specializes in qualitative research on doctor-patient interactions in primary care settings.
Her research interests focus on:
- Doctor-patient relationship dynamics including shame and trust mechanisms
- Consultation structures in general practice for complex cases
- Care adaptation strategies for socially vulnerable populations
- Relational competence development among general practitioners
- Video consultation challenges in digital health delivery
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal strong thematic continuity in patient-centered care research, with emphasis on chronic condition management, socially vulnerable patient cohorts, and technological mediation of clinical encounters. Her work predominantly employs qualitative methodologies to address health inequities and improve primary care delivery systems.
She currently supervises two PhD projects examining relational competence of GPs and video consultation dynamics. Guassora maintains active collaboration with the Department of Psychology at the Institute of Nordic Studies and serves on the editorial board of Tidskrift for Forskning i Sygdom og Samfund.
As leader of the "Consultation and Learning" research group, she drives innovation in consultation forms and professional roles to address evolving societal health challenges and disease patterns in contemporary primary care.
