Ankita Juneja

Ankita Juneja is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). Her research focuses on circular bioeconomy, biofuel production, and sustainable process technologies. She holds a Ph.D. in Biological and Ecological Engineering from Oregon State University (2015), an M.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Georgia (2010), and a B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from Punjab Agricultural University (2006).

Her research interests include carbon capture, nutrient cycling, hydrothermal technologies, and metabolic engineering. She leads the Juneja Lab, advancing innovations in waste valorization and microbial fermentation processes. Her work integrates techno-economic analysis and lifecycle assessment to evaluate bio-based systems.

Dr. Juneja teaches courses in chemical reaction engineering, fluid mechanics, and bioprocess engineering. She advises graduate students in paper and bioprocess engineering, focusing on sustainable technologies.
