University of California, San Franciscoمعرفی
Anju Ranjit, MD, MPH serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. Her clinical practice and research are focused within the Maternal-Fetal Medicine & Reproductive Genetics division, where she provides specialized care for high-risk pregnancies and contributes to UCSF's multidisciplinary approaches including the Multidisciplinary Approach to the Placenta Service (MAPS) and UCSF Pregnancy and Cardiac Treatment (PACT) Program.
Dr. Ranjit completed her Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at UCSF in 2024, following an Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences Residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington DC (2021). She earned her MPH with a concentration in Women and Reproductive Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2014. Her educational background reflects a strong foundation in both clinical obstetrics and public health approaches to women's health.
Her research program centers on implementation of evidence-based care in perinatology within low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), with particular emphasis on malaria prevention during pregnancy and fetal growth restriction. Dr. Ranjit's work bridges clinical obstetrics with global health implementation science, focusing on how to effectively translate medical knowledge into practice in resource-limited settings. Her research frequently involves collaborations with institutions in Nepal and Uganda, addressing health disparities and developing context-appropriate interventions for maternal and fetal health.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals consistent focus on malaria in pregnancy (accounting for approximately 30% of her work), health disparities (25%), implementation science in global health settings (20%), and maternal mental health (10%). Her research methodology spans randomized clinical trials, epidemiological analyses of large datasets, and implementation-focused studies in international settings, demonstrating methodological versatility aligned with her global health focus.
- Queenan Global Health, Investigator-Initiated Research Project Award from the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (2022)
- Outstanding Resident Teaching Award from UCSF (2022)
- Patient Care Award from Howard University Hospital (2021)
- Resident Research Award from Howard University Hospital Department of OBGYN (2021)
Dr. Ranjit has demonstrated significant engagement in global health capacity building, particularly through diaspora-driven research initiatives in Nepal. Her work extends beyond direct patient care to include development of evidence-based protocols for resource-limited settings, with emphasis on sustainable implementation strategies. She has contributed to multiple initiatives focused on strengthening research capacity in low-resource environments, reflecting her commitment to building local expertise rather than temporary interventions.
