Anjani Kolahi

Anjani Kolahi, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine. She serves as the Associate Director of the Department of Family Medicine's clerkship program and is a member of the Society of Teachers in Family Medicine. Her clinical practice focuses on hospital medicine and primary care, with specialization in women's health, patient-centered reproductive care, contraception, and low-risk obstetrics.

Dr. Kolahi earned her medical degree from the University at Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York and completed her family medicine residency at the UC San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program. Her academic work emphasizes medical student education and patient advocacy, particularly through the lens of motivational interviewing for health behavior change and medication adherence.

She has received recognition for her teaching excellence, including the Faculty of the Year Award (2019) from the UCI Department of Family Medicine. Her research and clinical leadership bridge family medicine practice, obstetrical care, and innovative communication strategies to improve patient outcomes.
