معرفی
Anja Mansrud is an Associate Professor at the Department of Cultural Heritage, Museum of Archaeology, University of Stavanger. Her research focuses on prehistoric archaeology, particularly Mesolithic and Neolithic Scandinavia, with expertise in human-animal relations, experimental archaeology, and material culture studies.
Her research interests include:
- Multi-species perspectives on human-animal interactions in ritual and daily contexts
- Experimental replication of ancient technologies (fishhooks, sinkers, bone tools)
- Socio-economic formations of hunter-fisher-gatherer communities
- Long-term perspectives on burial practices and cultural landscapes
Recent publications (2020-2025) demonstrate consistent interdisciplinary approaches, integrating archaeological evidence with experimental methods to explore bear claw burials, human-fish engagements, and soapstone sinker production. Her work reveals intricate relationships between environmental constraints, technological innovations, and cultural practices in prehistoric Scandinavian societies.
Mansrud actively participates in collaborative projects including 'Arkeologi på nye Veier' (Archaeology on New Ways) in Rogaland, investigating Stone Age settlements along infrastructure projects. She regularly engages in academic conferences, public lectures, podcasts with 'Primitive Tider', and media outreach to disseminate archaeological knowledge and advocate for cultural heritage preservation.
